Employees respond to job security and better pay
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have been able to recruit and retain talent by providing job security and attractive compensation, a survey reveals. The Singapore National Employers Federation and consulting firm StrategiCom found that in 2008, SMEs attracted and retained employees by allowing them to use their initiative, recognising their work, and offering an attractive compensation and benefits package. This year, employees also want a work-life balance.
