14,000 to be hired for census

The Census and Statistics Department will hire about 14,000 temporary survey staff for Hong Kong's population census next year, Sing Tao reports. The employees will conduct face-to-face interviews and will wear a uniform, and carry a briefcase with the department's logo when they are at work.

Geely plans venture capital fund for students 

Privately-owned mainland car manufacturer Geely will set up a venture capital fund for college students, Global Times reports. Beijing Geely University, a subsidiary of Geely and the alumni association of the university, will jointly invest 30 million yuan (HK$34 million) on career development. The fund will provide positions for graduates by turning scientific research programmes carried out by students into venture projects.
