Prizes in store at HKU annual photo day

This month, the University of Hong Kong's (HKU) Photographic Society is hosting its annual "Photo Day" event. As always, the main attraction will be the photo competition, for which participants travel around the city taking pictures under set themes (below left). Prizes for best photo include cameras, SD cards, and plenty of other equipment. October 23, 9am-6pm. HK$80 for members, HK$160 for non-members and HK$180 for walk-ins. Industry titans to share management insights at Classified Post summit  

Fancy yourself as the next Steve Jobs? Then, be sure to check out the Classified Post's "Executive Summit on CEO Challenges in 2012". The one-day event will provide useful insights on how to grapple with the pressing management issues of the day. Keynote speakers will include JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong general manager Mark Conklin, CLP Power Hong Kong managing director Richard Lancaster, and Simon Nowroz, president for Travelport in Asia-Pacific. CityU delves into China's religious networks  

Sociology and communications students are invited to attend the City University of Hong Kong's (CityU) latest research seminar on "Religious Networks and Regimes of Unofficial Knowledge in China". The one-and-a-half hour talk will focus on the often clandestine communications of such groups and their possible impact on members. October 17, 4.30-6pm. Canto star to perform for HKUST engineers  

Cantonese singing sensation Sita Chan will take to the stage at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) this month. The highly-anticipated performance at the Clearwater Bay campus (below right) will mark the start of "Computer Engineering Week", a five-day series of events organised by the Computer Engineering Society. Other highlights will include an online shopping lecture and society pub-night. October 18-21. More details at
