Post-crisis economic law summit at HKU

The world's top legal professors will convene at the Asian International Economic Law Network Conference 2011 which will focus on "The Global Financial and Economic Crisis and the Post-Crisis International Economic Law Environment". Singapore professor on China's rise as rule-maker in global trade

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) has invited Singapore Management University's associate professor of law, Henry Gao, to speak at a seminar on "China's Ascent in Global Trade Governance: From Rule Taker to Rule Shaker, and Maybe Rule Maker?"

Gao will explore how the mainland is no longer a passive "taker" of existing rules in the World Trade Organisation and has instead used it to "make" new rules. July 13, 1-2pm. Room LG102, LG1 Floor, KK Leung Building, HKU. Register at before 10am on July 13 or contact Flora Leung at 2859 2941.

Learn how to eliminate jargon and succinctly convey your message by attending the "Better Writing. Better Business" seminar organised by the British Chamber of Commerce. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Ruth Benny will share practical insights to help you write in a way that is easy to understand, and apply in the corporate world. July 14, 12.30pm to 2pm.
