The new Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong will open in March, occupying the 102nd to 118th floors of the International Commerce Centre in West Kowloon.
What will be the highest hotel in the world is in the process of filling 500 new roles for its food and beverage, front office, sales and marketing, and engineering departments.
As part of this, a "commitment to talent" day was organised last week, with shortlisted candidates invited to interviews to learn more about the company's culture and background.
"To avoid people waiting for hours, we scheduled slots for each of them to meet the interviewers," says Ellie Chan, director of human resources for the Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong. "We believe candidates should be treated as valued guests and would like them to experience a unique interview, conducted in a refined, stylish way."
Since there are still vacancies, she points out that recruitment will continue. Preferably, candidates should have "the spirit to serve" and want to provide genuine care for guests. Experienced hotel professionals and fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
"We are looking for people with the necessary strengths to deliver luxury service," Chan says.
New joiners will receive comprehensive training that includes an orientation programme, and courses on service skills and standard hotel operations.
"Each member of staff receives up to 250 hours of training every year," Chan says. "In addition, Ritz-Carlton encourages promotion from within, and there should be future opportunities at sister hotels overseas."
