The City University of Hong Kong's School of Continuing and Professional Education (CityU SCOPE) collaborated with Britain's Sheffield Hallam University to introduce a master of arts in international criminal justice to educate professionals in the law enforcement field about the latest knowledge and developments in the industry.

"The programme focuses on how we understand and manage crime under impacts of globalisation," says course leader Paul Seniors. "Students will learn to examine how crime and criminal justice responses have developed across different parts of the world, and how this might affect the delivery of criminal justice in Hong Kong."

The police, the probation and correctional services or other community justice organisations such as the security services or related non-governmental organisations are welcome to take the course. Assessment for all taught modules is by 100 per cent coursework. Students are required to produce a 1,5000-word dissertation to graduate.

Applicants are required to have a class honours degree or above in social science-related discipline. Students can study full time for 15 months or two years part time. Lectures are on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
