I hold a first degree in humanities, a certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, an MA in Applied linguistics and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and am on my way to getting a PhD Applied Linguistics, all with UK universities. I have 8 years experience of teaching General English and English for Academic Purposes at tertiary level. I currently work in Mainland China but would love to work for one of the the HK universities. I've applied for positions at almost all the HK unis for advertised positions I feel are at least equivalent to the one I hold now, but have heard nothing, not even a call to interview. I'm totally baffled at the lack of response, any ideas?
I am impressed by your qualifications. I am getting a MA in ELS and hoping to become an English teacher when I graduate. I have been checking out the universities' posts for English teaching positions and they are quite recent, I believe. You may have to wait a while because universities move slowly.
