So what type of job are you looking for? I thought that merchandisers were always in demand so I was surprised to hear that you’re having difficulty in getting any interview invitation from companies. I agree with the Career Doctor. Maybe it has something to do with your application. You should ask a trusted friend to take a look at your cover letter and résumé as what you’ve sent might be the issue. Either what you’ve presented is not attractive enough or you’ve spelt too much out that there is nothing to entice the employer to meet up with you and learn more about what you have to offer them.

Although you dislike your job right now, try think of it as something providing your basic needs (ie financial). It will take a long time for you to get an ideal job but at least you are surviving.

Try to be thankful (for the job) and at the same time keep searching.

So you do have a job now, why so desperate in need of a new one? Discontentment? Too hard and difficult a job? Poor salary? Can't get along with your boss/colleagues? The list goes on and on so what is your case? Some or all of the above?

You want out, fine, but this employment market is not a wishing well! It’s not like a fountain where you can make a wish throw in your coin and your dream will come true. It’s a nice thought though, isn't it?

You need a focus, you need to know your strengths and capabilities to help you set a target and to present and sell yourself for "the" job you want. Never "a" job you want. The numbers of applications you have sent has no relation to the interview chances you'll be given, and won't increase your chances, sorry!

When you've been sending applications and receiving so very few almost no replies, shouldn’t you try and think and find out the reason(s) why?
