Global search for panda keepers
Chengdu Panda Base in Sichuan province will launch a global search for six panda keepers next month. Organisers will be looking for "bright, articulate and engaging individuals ... who care deeply about conservation issues" to spend one month in Chengdu. Winners will help raise awareness by blogging to people around the world about their experience. AFP
American college graduates earn less
Recent American college graduates are earning less than their counterparts a year ago, according to a recent survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. The average starting salary for this year's graduates was US$48,661, down 1.3 per cent from the initial salaries of 2009 graduates. A few industries bucked the trend, however, raising compensation for new hires. The biggest increase was in hospitality services management, where the average offer rose to US$44,397.
