The University of Hong Kong's (HKU) Magic Club is hosting its annual orientation camp this weekend, a two-day event designed to help freshmen ease their way into student life. During the camp, attendees will be invited to take part in a number of games to break the ice and pick up some magic tricks. The camp will conclude with a magic competition and several group performances. 17-18 September. Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre, Tui Min Hoi Area, Sai Kung. HKUST grill-side mixer for aspiring DJs
Students or academic community members who dream of becoming disc jockeys should take note of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's (HKUST) upcoming Radio Orientation and Barbecue night. The evening will kick off with a group discussion on what it takes to make it on the air waves. This will be followed by a number of games, and then the barbecue. September 22, 6-9pm. Turn in your old textbooks for charity funds
The HKU Social Science Society has put out a call for old books - old textbooks in particular - to be auctioned off at its annual second-hand book sale.
