When it comes to productivity apps, simplicity and user friendliness are the order of the day. To that end, Notesy for Dropbox is right on the mark.
The no-nonsense software is geared towards one function and one function alone: text-based notation, complete with - as the name suggests - live syncing to your Dropbox account. As such, not only will your precious scribbles be safely tucked away in the cloud, you'll also be able to access them from other devices.
Like its counterparts Elements and Plaintext, Notesy does this by creating a dedicated folder inside your Dropbox's root directory. Notes you create within the app are automatically stored in this folder every two minutes. To access them from another source, say your home computer, simply locate the dedicated folder in your Dropbox and open the relevant file using any generic text editor.
If you're not a Dropbox user, this probably isn't the app for you. Likewise, if you're looking for added formatting options or multimedia integration, you'll have to go with a more sophisticated alternative, such as Evernote or Awesome Note. But if you're looking to jot things down digitally for later viewing, you can't go wrong with Notesy.
