Few apps have garnered more accolades than Evernote, the notation manager that the blogosphere still refers to as "your second brain".
While many of you might already be familiar with its capabilities, recent updates to the application and its desktop counterpart make it well worth a further mention.
A handy snippet view allows you to see a complete list of all your notes on the home screen, each of which can be opened with a tap. This also applies to notes with image attachments, which include small thumbnails alongside for reference.
The new version also boasts the ability to pin multiple items to a single note - invaluable for those using it as a planning tool for blog or news articles.
Attachments include images, tags, voice recordings and a map-supported location tool that pinpoints where you were when you created a note. All are accessible via a new six-by-six panel at the bottom half of the notation screen. For text entries, the panel turns into a keyboard by tapping a small button in the bottom right of the main window.
Despite the app's added features, its new interface is notably lighter as far as memory usage goes. The same can be said for the must-get desktop client, which was redesigned for that purpose.
