It's been a long wait, but the much-talked-about Firefox 4 is now upon us. And, while Apple's non-compete clause continues to thwart the possibility of a full-fledged iOS version, we can still access some of the browser's key features, thanks to Firefox Home.
Developed by Mozilla Corporation, the company behind Firefox, this handy app allows you to transfer and sync all your desktop bookmarks to your mobile device. It also allows you to sync your browsing history and any tabs you've left open.
The best part is that all three items - bookmarks, tabs and history - are searchable via a single text box on top of the application's home screen, which also doubles as the search screen. Results appear as you type, with a unique icon displayed for each of the three categories.
Synced data can also be accessed manually from the selection bar at the bottom of the app window.
Once you've zeroed in on the link or bookmark you're searching for, simply click to have the relevant page load up in-app courtesy of Webkit, a barebones version of the Apple Safari browser.
The entire process will take you just a few minutes - less if you're using the new Firefox paired with the latest version of the iPhone or iPod Touch.
